Mother’s Day Treat Jackson Morgan

If you’re hosting a Mother’s Day gathering or attending one, this dessert is a MUST! Chocolate and Whiskey Cake, oh my!! Below I will include the ingredients and preparation instructions for this tried and true cake! I am certain it will become a favorite! It will make for 8-10 servings.

Equipment

  • 1 10 inch springform pan
  • 1 medium saucepan

Ingredients

  • 12 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ cups brewed coffee
  • ½ cup Jackson Morgan Salted Caramel Liqueur
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¾ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 325 degrees. Butter a 10-inch springform pan. Dust with 2 tablespoons cocoa powder.
    ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, warm coffee, Jackson Morgan Salted Caramel Liqueur, 12 tablespoons butter and remaining cocoa powder, whisking occasionally, until butter is melted. Whisk in sugars until dissolved. Remove from heat and cool completely.
    12 tbsp unsalted butter, ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 ½ cups brewed coffee, ½ cup Jackson Morgan Salted Caramel Liqueur, 1 cup granulated sugar, 1 cup light brown sugar
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, pepper and cloves.
    2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 ½ tsp baking soda, ¾ tsp sea salt, ¼ tsp black pepper, 1 pinch ground cloves
  • In another bowl, whisk together eggs and vanilla. Slowly whisk the egg mixture into the chocolate mixture.
    3 large eggs, 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Add dry ingredients and whisk to combine. Fold in chocolate chips.
    1 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan. Transfer to the oven and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center emerges clean, 55 to 65 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack, then remove sides of the pan. 
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving!

Notes

*can substitute any Irish whiskey for Jackson Morgan Salted Caramel Liqueur
