DIY Terrific Terrarium

They say that including live plants in your surroundings brings positive energy to your space. Whether you are already Jane of your own jungle or have no trace of a green thumb in your DNA, we could all probably benefit from a little extra positive energy these days, can I get an Amen?! Therefore, we have created this DIY Terr-ific Terrarium project that we just know will bring joy to your jungle or a little life to your window sill. This is seriously as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Start with a plain, clear apothecary jar. Then just begin adding your layers. First, place rocks at the bottom. This layer will allow an area for water to drain. Next, add a layer of moss and then cover with dirt. Wipe the sweat from your brow, beautiful, you have just laid the groundwork for your greenery! Last, add your plant of choice. Make sure you select something that thrives in this environment, but there are lots that will work! We went with an adorable baby fern and an alternanthera, both of which love light and only need to be watered when the soil is dry. Won’t it be nice to have a plant whose feelings don’t get hurt when you don’t remember its frequent drenching schedule, oooor semi-forget about it altogether?! My non-green thumb girls want to get in on the plant love too – and now we can! Keep on your kitchen window sill or give this greenery as a gift!
