DIY Mercury Glass
Vintage and Old Farm House looks are ALL the rage right now!
One popular item in this decor style is mercury glass. This double walled blown glass, first made in the 1850s, is coated on the inside with a silvering formula that gives it the beautiful silver cast! How interesting and intricate!
But today you can totally DIY a copy cat look at an affordable price!
1. First things first! Clean your glass.
2. Mix a small batch of equal parts water and vinegar in a spray bottle.
3. Spritz the glass with the spray mixture.
4. Let dry a little bit.
5. Spray a layer of looking glass paint.
6. Let dry.
If needed, spray more vinegar/water mixture and then more looking glass paint until you achieve your desired look. You can purchase items at the Dollar tree, Goodwill, or use house hold items you already have!
